Monumental trees and unique tree groves are an essential part of the memory and identity of territories. Beyond their environmental value, these natural elements represent a connection between landscapes, communities and the cultural heritage that has developed around them over generations.
With the aim of improving their recognition, conservation and dissemination, Espacio Cultivare has developed new digital resources to highlight the value of the monumental trees and unique groves of the Comarca de Calatayud, making this natural heritage more accessible to residents, visitors and anyone interested in discovering the territory.
This initiative has been developed within the framework of the Sustainable Tourism Destination Plan of the Comarca de Calatayud, funded by the European Union through the NextGenerationEU funds, and has focused on creating tools to improve the interpretation and visibility of these unique natural resources.
Bringing trees closer to people through digital resources
One of the main achievements of the project has been the creation of informative and educational digital content about the monumental trees and tree groves identified throughout the comarca.
Through digital information sheets and QR-code-based resources, visitors can access additional information about each tree, discovering its characteristics, environmental importance and connection with the landscape and local identity.
This digital approach transforms these natural landmarks into interactive learning experiences, connecting nature, technology and environmental education.
